Steam Deck Joystick Drift Repair (LCD, OLED)
Is your Steam Deck (LCD, OLED) drifting? Stick drift is one of the most common faults, caused by wear inside the joystick module. We replace the worn joystick, which sorts out:
- Your character or camera moving on its own
- The stick not centring properly
- Stiff, loose or unresponsive sticks
- Sticks that click or feel gritty
The part
Choose the sticks you'd like from the Part Quality options:
- Genuine: genuine Valve thumbsticks, for one stick or both sticks. Available for both the Steam Deck LCD and the Steam Deck OLED.
- Aftermarket (Hall-effect): a pair of non-genuine Hall-effect sticks, fitted to both sides. Hall-effect sticks use magnets to read the stick's position instead of contact pads that wear out, so they're far more resistant to drift. This option is for the Steam Deck OLED only.
Got a Steam Deck LCD? The Aftermarket (Hall-effect) option doesn't fit the LCD model, so LCD decks get genuine sticks. LCD decks came with two different types of stick, so we'll check which type yours has before we start.
Every repair comes with our 12-month warranty. This covers the part we fit and our workmanship, but not accidental damage or user error.
Turnaround
If we have the part in stock, most repairs are done the same day. If we need to order the part in, it usually arrives the next working day, so your repair is normally done within 1 to 2 working days. Get in touch before you come in and we'll happily check whether we have your part in stock.
Genuine Steam Deck parts are ordered in from Valve's official parts partner, so if we don't have yours in stock, please allow a few extra days.
